"Plyo" is the result of my final project, in which the malleability of shaped wood was expanded through the use of specific cuts. Molded wood is an object that consists of several thin layers of veneer and is pressed into shape. It retains its shape permanently by gluing several flexible veneers on top of each other. The malleability of unprocessed veneers is limited by the natural grain. In my work, carefully selected incisions and cut-outs interrupt the material fibers and provide space for greater malleability. They are therefore an important tool for achieving the desired shapes and at the same time formative elements. Stability, usability and the appearance of an object are defined by the choice of shape and size of the cut-outs and the different layer structures of the veneers.
